FOTOS
Hey everybody! How is everyone doing?? What kind of stuff are people up to? How is school going? Send me updates and pictures🙃This week was pretty solid! The past 3 weeks in the field have gone by about 244% faster than the first 2 did, which I am very very grateful for🙏
I had exchanges again this week, this time with Elder Bustillo! It was a little interesting because he is from Honduras and only speaks Spanish, so you know I was getting that practice in, but let me tell you it was pretty rough and by the end of the day I was pretty exhausted mentally and physically. Their area is very big and doesn't have buses so lots of jungle hiking🚶♂️⛰️🌴 Kinda weird story while I was there was when we were at a members house for a visit, and we were walking out the door and heard some noise from behind it, and we thought maybe it was a cat or something? But it sounded super super weird. Well we look up a little and it's a pigeon sitting on their door. Don't know if it is a pet or a special guest? Not quite sure but the member said he was really brave and wiggled his fingers at it and the pigeon was going for the kill so it might have been a visitor🐦
This week we met a couple of people from the states, which is kind of unexpected. The one guy basically just complained about living in El Salvador for some reason, that was a little odd. The other guy we just met in passing but it was kind of funny to be walking down the street saying "buenas!" and have someone respond "whattup". Also saw a guy wearing a University of Illinois shirt on, super random but epic🤟
Now for the poop dogs real quick, we visit and teach this guy here and he has 3 dogs, but dogs here aren't really calm or trained, their training consists of getting smacked with sticks when they do bad stuff, so they kinda just jump on you and stuff. Well this day the 2 energetic dogs jumped up on us but they REEKED of poop like so bad. So we hand sanitized a ton and had to fend them off with our feet during the lesson, just keeping the literal poopy pups away from us, I did not enjoy🤧
Don't know if I've talked about this in the emails or not but every Friday here we have a ward activity playing basketball! It's so so fun and tons of random people show up to it, it's a lot of fun! I did have a block on my zone leader (unexpected for me) and he's a pretty big dude so I had to send him a gif of Giannis blocking Blake Griffin afterwards and tell him "dis you?" He thought it was really really funny I sent it to him while he was on the phone with my comp and he started laughing super hard. THEY DONT CALL ME BABY GIANNIS FOR NOTHIN😛🏀
Sorry this is starting to get way too long, but we also had Stake Conference this weekend, where on Saturday and Sunday we had meetings and messages at church with 5 wards, so lots of people from different areas in our mission! And lots of people from different parts of the mission means different missionaries...which means seeing missionaries I haven't seen in a while...which means seeing THE Elder Caleb Taylor🤩 It was literally so fun to see him after being apart from a while! He was in my district and my room in the Mexico Training Center, and it was so fun to see one of my best friends in the mission again, and 2 days in a row?? I mean come on now. We got to catch up a lot and it was so so much fun!!
Also really quick I heard the song "Peaches" cause some kid was watching the Mario Movie inside a house we were standing outside of, very random memory I didn't think about much, but it did remind me of going to see the 12:15am showing of it at college for some reason. Hey BYU peeps you remember that and why did we do it?🤔
Well guys for everyone who has even trekked this far into this email thanks for reading, if not I don't blame you it was a little hefty, but we will catch you all next week! LOVE YOU ALL!!
