Saturday, August 5, 2023 - Inception at the CCM??

I have been enjoying my first week and a half or so of being a missionary!! Online training was honestly not the most glamorous, but it was a nice transition into living here in Mexico City!!

I flew from Bloomington to Atlanta where I met up with some other missionaries, then we flew to Mexico City! At the airport we picked up a few more missionaries and we headed in a van to the CCM! It is right in the middle of Mexico City which I wasn't expecting, but there are these huge walls with barbed wire fences on the top, like 3 layers of gates, and security all around the entire place so I feel pretty safe.

My first day or so was a little bit rough just because of the transition from being home to being away again, and our schedule was a little bit crazy, but as the days have gone by I have gotten into a rhythm and I am feeling much better. My classes are pretty fun and I am learning a lot of spanish! I can already for sure see improvement. We took a placement test yesterday and I was placed at beginner intermediate, so basically just send me to El Salvador already.🙌

One of the weirdest things about being here is how many people I know and recognize. It is kind of crazy. SOOOO many people here from BYU. It is really comforting to be in the cafeteria and see people I know all the way from cousins to college friends to kids I grew up with. 

Overall life here has been good. I am learning and getting along with my companion Elder Bruce really nicely. He kind of reminds me of my roommate from first semester of freshman year Tanner *shoutout Elder McQuivey*

Now to explain the title of this email...
If anyone has seen the movie inception you know it is pretty trippy and confusing. Well, lets just say I crafted my own inception in my head the other night. I had a dream where I woke up from my dream, told my parents about how I woke up in my dream, then I woke up again in my dream and thought it was weird I woke up in my dream in my dream, and then I woke up AGAIN in my dream one last time and then actually woke up. Do not quite know how my brain crafted that but I immediately woke up and told Elder Bruce about how weird it was. 

SPIRITUAL THOUGHT
This week during my personal study I was reading in the Book of Mormon about King Benjamin and his address to his people. He is a very very wise guy and soooo much of what he said to those people thousands of years ago is applicable to our lives now! If we follow the commandments of our Heavenly Father, repent when we make mistakes, and keep enduring through hard times, WE WILL BE SO BLESSED!!!

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good Christmas and that you'll enjoy New Years!  Christmas Eve and Christmas were pretty fun! We got to stay out late and ate a lot of food and also sang lots of Christmas Carols so it was pretty fun honestly! We went to a kind of far away part of our area the other day and we got to play soccer with these kids which was pretty fun. We also saw these like 5 random super little puppies which was pretty cute We had a musical number in sacrament where all of the missionaries sang and a family and Investigator of the church played instruments! Friday, September 1, 2023 - Mason Ramsey in Mexico City💯👀 (EMOTIONAL)

Hey peeps, Things here are starting to get a little more repetitive, but it's ok because my next email that will be sent will be from EL SALVADOR!!! I have about 5 days here left and then I'm off to the actual mission field!! I'm nervous but so so so excited to get going! To close out the Hunger Games at the CCM, we had determined that whoever in our district got picked to speak in church this past week would become Peeta, but sadly no one from our district got picked🤧 or so we THOUGHT. SURPRISE SECOND ROUND REAPING ELDER HALL IS OUR PEETA🦅 There are some Elders here who are going to serve in this rural place in Guatemala and they have to learn this language called xiatchi or something? I don't even know how to spell it, but one of the three bore their testimony in the language and the other said a closing prayer!! Super super cool stuff! Monday, February 3, 2025 - Return of the King

Hey everybody! Hope you are all doing well! This week was pretty solid, I'll get into it We had our english class as usual which was pretty fun on Wednesday I went to Santa Tecla for this mission leadership meeting (that I usually don't go to) so that was really fun to go and be back in Merliot and stay the night at my old house where I lived for 7 months, especially because all of my old housemates are still there so that was pretty cool. I also got to see a lot of mission friends which is always fun Other than that we got stranded in Versalles for a sec which was a little stressful, we resorted to hitchhiking because there was no bus but that is what happens I guess. We did eventually get home though A guy that me and Elder LaMarr talked to in the street got baptised yesterday which was super cool! He lives in another area but it was still cool to see that!
