Wednesday, October 18, 2023 - Bacon el Bautista😆
Hello Everybody!!!!
Did ya miss me?? That's right this email is coming to you today on Wednesday instead of Monday like usual! The week went by kind of slowly because of the long gap between my P-Days, but it was still pretty good!
The reason why my P-Day is today is because transfers are tomorrow! Transfers are basically where people move areas, switch companions, neither, or both! UPDATE ON WHAT HAPPENS WITH MY TRANSFERS
RAPID FIRE EVENTS😆
-had interviews with the mission president and his wife, super fun to get to talk to them and get to know them a little better
-playing ping pong at this dude's house, he beat me every time but still fun
-"Hotline Bling" by Drake, "September" by Earth Wind and Fire, "Wake Me Up, Before You Go-Go" by WHAM, and "Feels" by Pharrell Williams in stores this week🔥, also some Taylor Swift if you are really into that
-seeing this dude in a giant pile trench thing of flaming garbage raking around with 4 dogs rummaging as well
-walking in the same place as the trash trench and being close to a cow farm, which resulted in me seeing the largest pile of poop I've ever seen in my life. Video in the Google Photos🫡💩
-the beautiful weather yesterday that was so so nice, and the views as well
-the dead rat in the street🐀
-Fernando's birthday!! He is the grandson of someone we are teaching right now and we got invited to his birthday party, so it was fun to practice spanish with the kids there and see them beat up knock off pinata batman, also videos in the Google Photos!
-the weed fields we found while walking, which are absolutely HUUUGE. We looked it up later and they are not legal here so we gotta be careful not to walk back over there cause people have misinterpreted missionaries as spies before so it could be a little sketch😅
We had 2 baptisms this week! A boy in the ward named Matthew was baptized this week by his dad, super cool! His family is from Canada and they only speak English, so I love their family cause I can fully communicate with all of them!! Me and Elder Tripp were asked to sing "I am a Child of God" at his baptism, and his mom started crying which was so sweet and a cool spiritual moment.
Alejandra also was baptised this week! She saw me and Elder Tripp studying in the park a few weeks ago and was interested, but got nervous so she referred herself to the missionaries online through Facebook. 3 weeks later she is now baptized! Super cool experience as well!!
A nickname has been made for me over the past few weeks by the people in my zone, and it's pretty sick. People now call me "Bacon el Bautista" or "Bacon the Baptizer". My Zone Leaders (other missionaries who are in charge of a small group of 15 or so other missionaries in areas close to mine) made an edit of me and sent it in our zone chat, and I'm not sure if it is totally approved but they made it so I guess it's ok. Don't worry guys, it will be in Google Photos. Very special surprise to get on a Sunday night.
That's about all for the week!! Hope everyone is doing well! Update me and send some pictures too!!
Love you all!!
Elder Bacon
