Monday, September 18, 2023 - Happy Birthday I Guess?😅

Hello everyone!! Hope everyone is doing well!! 

Before I start the email, I just want to say thank you to everyone who sent me a message this past week. Wow wow wow I received TONS of support and each and every one of your messages means so much to me and helped me this week so so much. It was literally the answer to my prayers, so thank you🥰

OK, this week was definitely better! I have done a lot of talking and shifting my mindset over the past week to not think about how much time I have left, but instead focus on serving the people day by day and just trying to help others one day at a time. That is helping me a LOT. My prayers are definitely being answered as I continue to keep serving and not focus on the things I miss or my own wants, or really myself in general. It's hard to shift that mindset but it is helping me a lot.

Member meals here are so fun! We have lots of dinners and lunches with the members and they are all so nice! It's really fun to try and talk to the kids but a lot of the time they say stuff to me and I just go "ooooh" cause I have no idea what they are saying😅

I love hearing music places here! On the bus, in taxis, on the street, it's so fun. We hear lots of Latin music which is cool but I also heard "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles on the street and it hit. 

I have had some pretty cool spiritual experiences this week. One really cool thing that happens here a lot is people will give us rides. The other day we were waiting for a bus to pick us up to our appointment and none were stopping for us. We said a prayer that there would be a way for us to get to the appointment, and a member saw us on the road and picked us up! So so cool! That happens pretty often which is awesome! Another cool thing that happened this week was me bearing my testimony of the Book of Mormon to a man who has been going to church for about 20 years with his wife who is a member, but he isn't one. I got to share my story with reading the Book of Mormon to him and I felt the spirit very strong even though my Spanish was really simple, that was super cool! I've also really felt my prayers be answered and the love of God which is awesome of course, as well as the atonement helping me out a ton!! I also sang in church which was fun! We sang "Más Cerca Dios de Tí". Good stuff

WE GOT PAPA JOHNS THIS WEEK!! Every 2 weeks we get our money for the 15 days, and we had enough at the end of the week last week to get it. SO GOOD!! It was weird because it was like a little pocket of the states. Playing American music, football was on the TV, it was pretty fun. I have definitely come to appreciate my life in the states more after living here. Some people have almost nothing, so I am a lot more grateful now.

While we were in one area finding, we found a family that said we could come back to their house in like 30 minutes to share a message. So we leave, talk to some other people, and come back and visit the family. They invite us inside and we quickly realize one of the 7 or so people in the house is having a little birthday celebration with his family! They brought our a cake, threw some cake on each other, and gave us some as well (that hadn't been on a person already) it was really fun! We ended up waiting in there for like an hour for the rain to stop so sorry family we crashed your birthday and overstayed but they seemed happy to have us there😅

Overall a much better week. Again thank you all for your messages and just overall reading my emails. If you made it this far you are a real one. As always SEND ME STUFF I LOVE IT. INCLUDING PICTURES AND LIFE UPDATES.

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a good Christmas and that you'll enjoy New Years!  Christmas Eve and Christmas were pretty fun! We got to stay out late and ate a lot of food and also sang lots of Christmas Carols so it was pretty fun honestly! We went to a kind of far away part of our area the other day and we got to play soccer with these kids which was pretty fun. We also saw these like 5 random super little puppies which was pretty cute We had a musical number in sacrament where all of the missionaries sang and a family and Investigator of the church played instruments! It was really fun Yesterday it was raining so hard, the streets just completely flooded and we got soaked but our shoes were actually just filled with water it was a little bit uncomfortable hahaha but it was pretty funny I hope everyone has a good New Years!! Friday, September 1, 2023 - Mason Ramsey in Mexico City💯👀 (EMOTIONAL)

Hey peeps, Things here are starting to get a little more repetitive, but it's ok because my next email that will be sent will be from EL SALVADOR!!! I have about 5 days here left and then I'm off to the actual mission field!! I'm nervous but so so so excited to get going! To close out the Hunger Games at the CCM, we had determined that whoever in our district got picked to speak in church this past week would become Peeta, but sadly no one from our district got picked🤧 or so we THOUGHT. SURPRISE SECOND ROUND REAPING ELDER HALL IS OUR PEETA🦅 There are some Elders here who are going to serve in this rural place in Guatemala and they have to learn this language called xiatchi or something? I don't even know how to spell it, but one of the three bore their testimony in the language and the other said a closing prayer!! Super super cool stuff! Makes me glad I'm just learning spanish😅 We started doing only Spanish classes this week instead of a spiritual class in the m...

Monday, February 3, 2025 - Return of the King

Hey everybody! Hope you are all doing well! This week was pretty solid, I'll get into it We had our english class as usual which was pretty fun on Wednesday I went to Santa Tecla for this mission leadership meeting (that I usually don't go to) so that was really fun to go and be back in Merliot and stay the night at my old house where I lived for 7 months, especially because all of my old housemates are still there so that was pretty cool. I also got to see a lot of mission friends which is always fun Other than that we got stranded in Versalles for a sec which was a little stressful, we resorted to hitchhiking because there was no bus but that is what happens I guess. We did eventually get home though A guy that me and Elder LaMarr talked to in the street got baptised yesterday which was super cool! He lives in another area but it was still cool to see that!
